A versatile end grain sealer, joinery wax, and maintenance finish for timber and wood surfaces.
Liquid Wax End Sealer from Heritage Natural Finish is designed to protect, revive, and enhance your wood projects—without adding color. This non-staining formula works beautifully on end grain, joinery, and as a top-coat finish, bringing out a soft sheen and renewed life in dry or weathered wood.
You can apply it in two simple ways: brush or rub it in and buff dry for a polished look, or apply, allow to dry, and power-buff for a deeper luster. It can stand alone as a durable finish or be layered over other Heritage oils for added protection and shine.
Perfect for seasonal cleaning and maintenance of timber frames, Liquid Wax End Sealer helps reduce checking in stored lumber and makes final fitting easier. Many timber framers use it directly on joinery and end grain in the shop to prevent cracking while maintaining the natural look of the wood. It’s equally effective on timbers stored outdoors, enhancing durability against the elements and increasing the longevity of your top-coat wax.
This versatile sealer is also recommended for use as a top coat on floors, countertops, earthen surfaces, and furniture, providing a smooth, buffable finish that deepens and strengthens over time.
Sustainable by Design
All Heritage Oil Finishes are non-toxic, biodegradable, and sustainable, formulated without heavy metals or chemical driers. Although they take longer to dry, the slower curing process allows for deeper penetration and prevents surface wrinkling from uneven drying.
Application Tips
These finishes can be used even in cold conditions—there’s no strict minimum temperature. In cooler weather, apply thinner coats, wipe away any unabsorbed product after a few hours, and allow more drying time between applications.
Coverage
Approximately 800+ square feet per gallon depending on surface texture and wood density.
-
Rough-sawn or softer woods like pine or reclaimed Douglas fir absorb more.
-
Denser woods like hickory require less.
-
The second coat covers more area than the first.
-
Dry wood will absorb more than green timbers, so order a bit extra to ensure full coverage.
Clean-Up
For spills, overspray, or brush cleaning, use Heritage Pure Citrus Solvent or any compatible solvent such as turpentine or mineral spirits.
